2010 Artist Bios and Photos

Olivia Batchelder – Visual Artist
Project: Creative drawing and painting with youth and families at the Orange County Interfaith Shelter in Costa Mesa

Diana Carey – Visual Artist and Poet
Project: Expressive arts in the form of visual art and poetry with children and youth affected by child abuse and neglect at Casa de Amparo in Oceanside

Lynne Everett – Artist
Project: Expressive Art Workshops for seniors at affordable housing locations in both San Clemente and Irvine. Her project is sponsored by LifeSTEPS – a nonprofit organization that provides social services for people living in affordable housing sites

Brenda Glim – Actor
Project: After school mentoring program and performing arts focused on improvisation with teens at Ocean View High School in Huntington Beach

Christina Jones – Dance Artist, Choreographer
Project: Ballroom dance, cultural folk dance and movement with adult individuals who experience developmental disabilities at Training, Education & Research Institute in Oceanside

Fawn Norrup – Visual Artist, Educator
Project: After school visual and performing art with Samoan and other youth in collaboration with the Youth Opportunities Network at the San Luis Rey Resource Center in Oceanside

Jeannie Ortiz – Visual Artist, Educator
Project: Visual Art with at-risk middle and high school students at Vista Community Clinic’s Project Reach after School Program in Oceanside

Roberto Salas – Visual Artist
Project: Research, design and execution of collaborative public murals with college students at the Barrio Arte club at Mira Costa College in Oceanside

Terry Sprague – Dance Artist
Project: After school dance-video-creative writing projects with English language learners and other students at San Dieguito Academy in Encinitas

De Hai Tran – Actor, Puppeteer
Project: Puppetry and performing arts with young professionals, children, and senior citizens at the Vietnamese American Arts and Letters Association (VAALA) in Westminster

Kathryn Williams – Visual Artist
Project: Art classes for low-income families who lack access to enriching community services at the Orange County Family Resource Center in Lake Forest
